The Mijas Jazz Festival 2012 starts on Friday, October 19th and will run for 2 weekend with concerts on the Friday and Saturday nights for both weekends. All concerts will take place in the Las Lagunas theater.
The festival kicks off with The Golfinis Swing, who bring their own blend of gypsy swing and old school Jazz to the Mijas Jazz festival.
Next up is the New Orleans Jump Band, who will perform on Saturday, October 20th. The band have become quite popular in Spain and consists of members from the UK, Sweden and Holland, all expats residing in Spain.
The 2nd week of the Mijas Jazz festival 2012 starts with a performance by Phil Wilkinson Quartet, who will play classic Jazz, normally playing some tunes from artists such as Cole Porter, Duke Ellington, Thelonius Monk and John Coltrane.
Finally, the festival winds up on Saturday, October 27 with Tracey Reid and the Sweet Rhythm Kings. Tracey and her band have been playing at many festivals around Spain and have got some excellent reviews for their performances.

Tickets for the Mijas Jazz Festival 2012 can be purchased at Las Lagunas Theatre, Camino del Albero 16, Las Lagunas, Mijas Costa. The ticket shop is open Monday, Thursday and Friday from 17:00 to 20:00 and 2 hours before each concert.
