Santana Golf Course and Country Club is located in the hills behind Fuengirola with breathtaking views of the Mijas mountains. The course was designed by Cabell B. Robinson to incorporate the original avocado plantation in which its built upon. Wide fairways and being a relatively flat course makes it a pleasure to walk around. The greens are well protected and the entire course is very well maintained.

COURSE CURRENTLY BEING REFURBISHED, DUE TO RE-OPEN 2013 Designed by Robert Trent Jones Snr., Los Lagos golf course is a flat, long course with wide fairways and little rough. Easy so far but the course has been designed with a lot of bunkers and an impressive nine lakes to avoid. The course is named after these lakes and has been designed to accommodate all levels of golfers.

La Cala Golf Campo Asia was formerly La Cala’s South Course and is a golf course that will definitely put your skills to the test. The course varies in elevation throughout and incorporates fairways with cross slopes making it very hilly. Many of the greens are small and well protected.

La Cala Golf’s Campo America used to be called the North Course and is the longest of the three courses available at the resport. The technical par 72 course is very hilly with wide fairways and requires accuracy especially on approach shots as many of the greens are elevated.

Los Olivos Golf Course

One of two golf courses available at Mijas Golf, Los Olivos golf course was designed by Robert Trent Snr. and is a narrow course that challenges players with a higher technical ability. There are fewer water hazards than its sister course, Los Largos, and the course is a little shorter, however the course has plenty of trees lining the narrow fairways and some elevated small greens.

El Chaparral golf club has been designed and built to incorporate the indigenous vegetation including tall pine forests scattered throughout the course giving it an established undergrowth. Almost the entire course has views of the Mediterranean sea. The course has 6 par 3′s, 6 par 4′s and 6 par 5′s with many greens that are lightning quick and narrow fairways. The course is quite large so a buggy is recommended.

Located in the mountains behind Mijas, the Alhaurin golf course was originally designed by Seve Ballesteros. While it has a magnificent setting with spectacular views, the course is quite technical and demands accuracy. Long narrow fairways and plenty of hazards means the course is perfect for straight hitters. Greens are well protected.

La Cala Golf – Campo Europa

La Cala Golf Campo Europa opened in 2005 and is the newest of the three courses. The course is much flatter than Campo America and Campo Asia and has become a favorite of many local golfers. Additionally, the fairways are wider, the greens much larger and the entire course uses a non-native grass to ensure the course does not dry out during the hot summer months.

Cabopino Golf

Located close to the marina, Cabopino golf course was opened in 2001 and has fantastic views of the sea and Africa across the straits. The course has built a reputation as very tight in places although golfers willing to take on the drive can be rewarded. Very hilly in parts, especially holes 6 and 8, a buggy hire is definitely recommended for this course. As with all courses on the Costa del Sol, water hazards play their part and feature here on at least 5 holes.
